History

From our roots in public equities, we have since grown significantly as a student organization.

The origins of Trillium Capital date back to 2009 when Queen’s Economics Investment Council (QEIC) was founded by five Queen’s economics students. The club brought together individuals who wanted to hone their skills in the public markets.

As the club grew, as did the diversity of academic backgrounds. In 2018, we rebranded as Trillium Capital to reflect a team which included members from Engineering, Arts and Sciences, and Business.

Since our new start as Trillium Capital, we are proud to count many talented individuals amongst our members. Many of these alum have gone on to careers at the top firms and organizations in their field.

As our alumni network progresses through their careers, they have pursued a wide variety of opportunities both within and beyond finance.

This includes homage to our public equities roots, with many alumni at preeminent hedge funds and public equity firms.

Beyond this, alumni have pursued investment banking, consulting, private equity, venture capital, technology, startups, and many more.

We are thrilled by the success of our members and alumni and invite like-minded individuals who share our values to join and help in writing our next chapter.
